A tea room by the water, where the signs are allowed to be quiet.
Vaart sits on a canal corner in the Jordaan, half shop and half tea room. The owners asked for something that would feel at home next to a 17th-century facade without pretending to be old.
We set every sign in one weight and one size, placed at eye level for someone seated. Menu cards slide into brass rails so the list can change with the harvest.
The tins carry only the tea name, the garden and the year. The sage green came from the shutters outside.
