Femke Aalders
I design identities and build the websites they live on. Veldwerk is just me, a desk on the NDSM wharf, and two projects at a time.
I grew up in Zwolle, studied graphic design in Arnhem and spent six years in agencies, first drawing logos, later handing them over to developers and watching the details get lost.
In 2019 I started Veldwerk to close that gap. The person who sets the type also writes the CSS, so the spacing on a coffee bag and the spacing on a product page come from the same decision.
Most of my clients are small makers: roasters, workshops, publishers, shops with one room. They tend to come back.

Process/ Werkwijze
How it goes
01.
Listen
One long conversation in the studio or on a call. I write down what you say, not what I want to hear.
02.
Frame
A short written brief and three directions, each one a page. You pick one; we drop the others.
03.
Make
Identity and website are designed together, so the rules are decided once and used everywhere.
04.
Hand over
Files, guidelines and an editing panel, plus an hour together so you can run it without me.
